A playful New Zealand-made sculptural flower vessel by Xtatic, dating from the late 1980s to early 1990s. Its flattened oval form is hand painted in warm orange tones with expressive stick figures, spirals and geometric motifs in black, turquoise and earthy shades. Made from porous bisque china by Sanderson Design Studio in Rangiora, it was intended for dried flowers rather than holding water directly. The original Xtatic usage note is included and advises placing a separate waterproof container inside when fresh flowers are used. With its bold colour, quirky graphics and unusual form, it also displays beautifully empty as a sculptural decorative piece. Size: 22cm tall x 21cm wide x 9cm deep. Condition: Good vintage condition. There are three or four small dots of white paint on one central figure to one side, along with light marks consistent with age. The paler areas throughout are part of the original hand-painted finish rather than paint loss. No cracks or major chips noted. Original usage note included. Please refer to the photos as they form part of the description. Collector Note: This piece forms part of our Sculptural Décor Curated Collection, featuring carefully selected objects chosen for their striking form, texture, and visual presence. 👉 Explore the full collection 👉 Learn more about the collection 👉 Also featured in our 80s to Today Ceramics Collection
