Spanish Colonial Plug Bayonet 18th Bone handle with sheath

This 18th-to-19th-century Spanish plug bayonet is a traditional Iberian dagger featuring a distinctly tapered handle crafted from polished bone or horn. The smooth, light-colored horn tapers toward the top to fit directly into the muzzle of a smoothbore musket, featuring a prominent central baluster swelling for a firm hand grip. A sturdy, double-edged steel dagger blade with a prominent central ridge and a wide ricasso block near the hilt. A straight metallic crossguard adorned with decorative turned finials/knobs on each end. Accompanied by its original dark leather sheath fitted with a matching silver-toned metal locket at the throat and a ball-tipped metal chape at the bottom.
