Dendritic Agate Memorial Ring with OMC Diamond Halo
An antique ring, modeled in 18k yellow gold, whose primary gemstone is a remarkable dendritic agate. This agate tablet is beautifully figured with delicate brown and rust-colored plumes that lay atop its translucent, white chalcedony field. At the top of the agate, a splash of carnelian that reads like a sun shining down. Amid the plumes, a striking "wormhole—" a dendrite's tunnel lined with lavender, and subtly-edged with red! At the base of the agate, another wormhole, edged with gold. A halo of twenty-two, chunky old mine cut diamonds surrounds our agate— these are held in clawed prongs that are integral to the ring's crown-like head. The ring's substantial flat-wire shank is styled with a simple cathedral shoulder. Ornate, engraved script on the ring's reverse memorializes Eliz Rufsell, died May, 1781, at the age of 37. This big, soulful ring is a rare find, and it is striking in wear! The ring base, here, was created for the much older head, during the 1940s. It was cleverly hand-fabricated to perfectly fit the top, and it is very well made. Marked K18 for 18k gold purity.
