Designed for fast, consistent flow and a clean, clearly defined cup. CAFEC Abaca filters are made in Japan from a blend of abaca- also known as Manila hemp- and wood pulp. Abaca’s strong, fine fibres allow the paper to remain thin and highly permeable while retaining its shape throughout brewing. Unlike conventional papers with texture on only one side, CAFEC uses a proprietary two-sided crepe. This maintains an air layer between the filter and dripper, provides clear pathways for water and captures fine coffee particles without unnecessarily restricting the flow. The faster, steadier drawdown gives you more control over grind size, pouring and agitation. We particularly like these filters for light-roasted specialty coffee, where they help produce greater clarity and a more even extraction without the brew stalling.
