About The Distillery Fettercairn Distillery sits in the foothills of the Cairngorms in the eastern Highlands of Scotland. Founded in 1824 by Sir Alexander Ramsay, it was one of the early licensed distilleries after the 1823 Excise Act helped shape the legal Scotch whisky industry.
