New Guinea Sole Fish 5-6cm(Leptachirus Klunzingeri) Leptachirus klunzingeri A fascinating and unusual true freshwater flatfish, Leptachirus klunzingeri is a peaceful bottom-dwelling species prized for its incredible camouflage and unique behaviour. Commonly known as the Asian Freshwater Sole, this species spends much of its time gliding across the substrate or partially buried in sand waiting for food. Ideal for calm tropical aquariums, these soles thrive in soft sandy setups with leaf litter, driftwood and subdued lighting. Their marbled patterning allows them to blend perfectly into natural aquascapes, making them a fantastic oddball species for experienced fishkeepers. Unlike many other soles sold in the hobby, Leptachirus klunzingeri is a genuine freshwater species and does not require brackish conditions long term.
