Heuer Monnin #844 1st Gen. Item #3254 Outstanding condition on this example of Heuer’s first dive watch. This is the first generation of the 844, made in France and featuring the Cathedral hands, French spelling of “Professionel”on the dial and MADE IN FRANCE at 6:00. There is a quick-set date at 3:00 and finally, a 24-hour track with Arabic numerals in red. The thick glass crystal is perfect and the original screw-down works as it should. Screws down nice and tight. Even the bezel insert is in great condition with one minor edge scuff at about 25 minutes and one mark that we can see and that mark did not go through the black finish. The bezel is unidirectional and without a lume pip at 12. The caseback does have a few light marks from a case opener. The case measures 42mm and is stainless steel. It features beveled lugs and prominent crown guards. The caseback screws on and off. The movement is France made, cal. #FE4611A with automatic winding and quick-set date function. The watch was recently serviced and is running well and keeping good time. Lastly, we installed a tan (it matches the luminous perfectly) new, vintage leather strap. We think it looks great on the watch.
