Needle Felting Magical Mermaids with Joyce Hazlerig

Learn to make a lovely needle felted Mermaid with long flowing wool lock hair! A perfect class to get your fins wet as an introduction to this medium, or further your felting skills. Faces are minimal a suggestion of eyes or mouth following the Waldorf style of doll. During our 3 hour class session you will be learning how to twist a wire armature for your mermaid, build up a core and layer wools, felt a fabulous mer tail and root locks for her gorgeous signature hair. Location: The Rogue Skein, 1013 Main Street, Kerrville, TX 78028 Teacher: Joyce Hazlerig Skill Level: Beginner to Advanced (Previous felting experience is welcome but not required.) Skills Needed: some manual dexterity for twisting the wires Skills Learned: shaping wool by needle felting, using locks, making armatures Class Kit: Core wool skin tone, Skin tone wool, floral wires, specialty dyed Teeswater locks Kit cost: $ +tax Personal supplies: a felting pad at least and any needles they have Class Supplies: a felting pad and needles if they don’t have any already The supplies will be available in store. Students receive a 10% discount on the day of class. Consignment items and class kits are not available for a discount.
