Itinerary: Day 1: Antananarivo – Andasibe After breakfast at the hotel, depart for a visit to to Peyreiras Reptile Reserve (3 hours on drive) to see up close captive Panther Chameleons, Island Chameleons, Stump-tail Chameleons, Brookesia Chameleons, Golden Mantella Frogs, Tomato Frogs, Madagascar Tree Boas, Leaf-nose Snakes, Cat-eyed Snakes, Tenrecs, numerous species of Leaf Tail Geckos. The curators of the reserve usually take the animals out of their enclosures to allow close photographs. Continue to Andasibe with stops at the landscapes for photos and any break if necessary. Andasibe-Mantadia National Park is a 155 square km protected area, located about 150 km east of Antananarivo, consisting principally of primary growth forest in Alaotra-Mangoro Region in eastern Madagascar. A visit of Mitsinjo Park is organized and then you do the night walk inside the park. Overnight at Andasibe Cyperus Hotel Day 2: Andasibe After breakfast, visit of the Mantadia National Park in the morning where you discover and trek along trails to see Wild Diademed Sifakas, Woolly Sifakas, Common Brown Lemurs, and the famous Indri Indri. You will explore the trails for orchids and birdlife. In the afternoon, you will visit the Vakona Lodge’s reserve to see common brown sifaka, grey bamboo lemurs, and black and white ruffed lemurs. A night walk is organized. Overnight at Andasibe Cyperus Hotel Day 3: Andasibe – Antananarivo – Antsirabe Leave Andasibe early in the morning as the distance to Antsirabe is long. But there will be stops for photos and break if necessary. Then drive directly to Antsirabe. A visit of the city of Antsirabe is organized in the afternoon. Antsirabe is the third largest city in Madagascar and the capital of the Vakinankaratra region.In Madagascar, Antsirabe is known for its relatively cool climate, its industry and the high concentration of pulled rickshaws or pousse-pousse. The city has the nicknames ville d’eau (‘city of water’ in French) referring to the presence of multiple thermal springs in the area. Overnight at Menab’L Hotel Day 4: Antsirabe – Miandrivazo – Morondava Early in the morning, depart to Antsirabe and continue to Miandrivazo for the road trip to Morondava. The drive takes about five (5) hours from Antananarivo to Antsirabe where you stop for lunch. There will be stops for photos and break if necessary. After lunch, you will continue the road to Miandrivazo and have lunch at Miandrivazo. Then , you will continue the road trip to Morondava which takes you about six (6) hours. There will be stops for photos and break if necessary. Arrive on time for great pictures when the sun is low, raking light, and smooth trunks reflect the orange rays of the sun. Overnight at Baobab Café Hotel Day 5: Morondava – Kirindy – Morondava After breakfast at the hotel, depart for a visit of the Kirindy forest, a private reserve which is well-known by its giant jumping rat, the “Fossa”, the largest carnivorous animal in the country. It is also one of the reserve having most endangered ecosystems, lemur species, and many endemic reptile species. There are also some unique species of rare flora. Then, the visit is continued to Akiba Lodge where you notice different species of lemurs., and then head back to Morondava. Overnight at Baobab Café Hotel Day 6: Morondava – Miandrivazo – Antsirabe Early in the morning, visit of the village of Betania known for its boat maker then Leave Morondava early in the morning as the distance is about five hours. And there will be stops for photos and break if necessary. Lunch in the city of Miandrivazo . Overnight at Soalia Hotel Antsirabe Day 7: Antsirabe – Antananarivo After breakfast, a city tour of Antsirabe is organised before you leave the city and drive on road N7 for progress to reach the capital city with stops for pictures. A visit in Ambatolampy is organised.
