It started with the idea of drawing animals on the Albert Cuyp market, eating stroopwafels. I loved drawing the city around it so much, that I decited to draw the rest of this beautiful city too, with al the "people" in it. Just as animals, like I usually like imagining. There is a streetsigh somewhere in Amsterdam that says "Hoe eet je een tompouce weg". Loosly translated as, how do eet a tompouce (a)way. A funny wordpun and a topic of many debates in the Netherlands, about how to best eat this sweet treat. I have my opinion on how to best do it, but oof are the good, any way you eat them! Eventually, they will all be in a book, a kind of love letter to the city I love living in so much! For now they will be available as cards and prints.
