The Retro Classic tobacco sample bag contains 8 of our best selling all time favourites: Gold Block Mild in strength, faintly aromatic, Gold Block is a blend of various Virginias and Burley tobacco. Once a U.K. made blend it's been handled by MacBaren of Denmark since 2015. Ribbon cut, it's great for beginners as there's no tongue bite, it's mild, easy to pack and light. The brand has been around from the end of the last century and is still a firm favourite for many pipe smokers. Light in taste, the flavour has an aromatic edge that appeals to many. Three Nuns Another brand now produced by MacBaren, this blend originated in Glasgow in the 1890's and came from the firm J.&F. Bell. A curly cut tobbaco it originally used a blend of Virginia tobaccos and Louisiana Perique. It became popular and remains so in this present day. The blend today still uses Virginia and Perique and now has Dark fired Kentucky in the line up. Medium strength, it's cool burning with woody & nutty notes. Erinmore Mixture First made in the 1920's by Murray Sons & Co. of Belfast, in 2005 Scandinavian Tobacco Group acquired the brand and they now make it to the original recipe. Double fermented Black Cavendish with Burley & bright Virginias, a black cherry flavour adds richness to a mellow smoke. Medium in strength and nicotine there's little not to like if aromatics are your thing. Original Walnut Flake First produced in the early 1900's this is a medium strength smoke made from flue-cured Virginias with Kentucky and Burley dark fired tobaccos all pressed and steamed to form a flake. Cut into slices that are easy to rub out, experience the woody and nutty character of this blend with some spice thrown in. A slow burning blend with no added aromatics. St. Bruno Ready Rubbed A classic from 1896 St Bruno has endured throughout the years. Probably many pipesmoker's first purchase. Medium in strength it can be a flake or a ready rubbed mixture. Either way it's a great smoke. Made from a blend of Virginias and fire cured Kentucky tobaccos the woody and smokey flavour is tempered by the addition of a floral dressing, often used in Lakeland blends. Condor Ready Rubbed Another turn of the century icon, Condor is now only sold as a ready rubbed product. Originally made by Thomas Gallaher from Derry this brand is still popular. A blend of pressed Virginias which are sliced and partially rubbed out are given the Lakeland scent and this dark, full bodied blend is transformed. Cool burning with a now discernible floral scent it smokes beautifully and offers complete satisfaction. Clan A continental blend of 14 tobaccos that include Black Cavendish, Burley, Kentucky and Oriental leaves are the base for this blend. The addition of a sweet fruity topping makes it easy smoking. Mild to medium strength and great for beginners, but take it slowly as it's fine cut. Special Virginia AKA Mellow Virginia A youngster in age, having become popular from the 1970's Mellow Virginia is a blend of Virginias, Burley and Kentucky tobaccos with the hint of a caramel dressing. Cool burning with a pleasant room note the nicotine hit isn't too high, the caramel adds a sweetness that makes it an all-day smoke for some.
