Epiphone Emperor Regent ES-295
What if the Gibson ES-295 came in a larger 17" size, like an L-5? Modded in-house by 1929, we've got a rare Gold (GD) Epiphone Emperor Regent modified to pay tribute to the Gibson ES-295 archtop. This is a very early Emperor Regent ('94) and was built in the preferable Korean Peerless factory. We've added a two Lollar '50s Wind P-90 pickups, a one-off 5-layer bound cream pickguard with the ES-295 floral design in metallic gold, CTS electronics, paper-in-oil capacitors, vintage-correct "tall" speed knobs, a Gibson style tailpiece, and new Gotoh tuners with cream buttons. This guitar plays and sounds excellent. Not to mention the looks. This thing is large and commanding in the gold/cream. This is the only Gold (GD), not Gold Flake, Emperor Regent that I've ever run into. The color is metallic gold like an ES-295: gold from front to back, top to bottom. Nice dark rosewood fretboard on this one too. There's not a guitar out there like it, and there'll never be another one from 1929. This is a USED guitar that has been modified. This one is in really nice condition for its age, with very few visible scratches or dings in the finish. No cracks or repairs. Ships in a semi-hard case that fits it well.
