For thinner tops, you will need to use #10 washers, and stack them on the screw as "spacers" before driving the screw. This will reduce how far the screw protrudes from the leg. Test drive a screw with a few washers and then measure how far the screw protrudes. From there, adjust your depth accordingly based on your top thickness. Please note, no washers are provided and this is to be used on a case-by-case basis.
