Rocca Pendice Rock Climbing Guidebook
Rocca Pendice is the main climbing area in the Euganean Hills that are situated to the west of Venica and southwest of Padova (Padua). This is a comprehensive rock climbing guidebook details the sport climbing and multi-pitch rock climbing at Rocca Pendice. It also includes 3 smaller crags, which are Monte Pirio, Monte Gande, and Monte Cinto. Rocca Pendice is one of the most historic and varied rock‑climbing venues in the Euganean Hills, combining trachyte volcanic rock, classic multi‑pitch routes up to 170m long, modern sport routes, and a dramatic setting above the town of Teolo. The sport routes are very well bolted, along with most of the multi-pitch routes, though some of these require a small trad rack of cams and nuts to supplement the in-situ gear. The guidebook describes over 400 sport routes across a wide range of grades (F3's to F8b), and 39 multi-pitch routes. All the routes are shown on colour photo topos. For the multi-pitch routes there is also an additional hand-drawn topo. For each sector there is a location map and approach information. Symbols are used to show the aspect of the crag, approach time, recommended rope length, and if it is suitable for children. There is also a table showing the total number of routes at each grade. Published in April 2026 (revised 3rd edition) it includes more than 100 routes than the previous edition. The guidebook is in Italian text throughout, plus the introduction section, approach information and descent information for the multi-pitch routes are all in English text, plus a large amount of information is also conveyed by symbols. Number of pages is 320. Size is 150mm x 210mm (A5). ISBN is 9791257310059.
