The world's oldest soap — perfected over 3,000 years in the ancient city of Aleppo, Syria. Made by a master soap maker using only four ingredients: olive oil, laurel berry oil, water, and lye. No dyes. No synthetic fragrances. No preservatives. No palm oil. Just centuries of craftsmanship in every bar. Each bar is hand-cut, stamped by the master soap maker, and air-dried for a minimum of 9 months — the traditional curing process that allows the soap to develop its full therapeutic properties. The result is a dense, long-lasting bar with a rich, creamy lather that cleanses without stripping. The exterior ages to a warm golden-brown during the drying process, while the interior remains a deep emerald green — the hallmark of authentic Aleppo soap and proof of the natural oils within. Choose your laurel oil concentration based on your skin's needs: 1% Laurel Oil (Tradition) — The gentlest formula. Ideal for babies (3+ months), very sensitive skin, elderly skin, and whole-family daily use. Predominantly olive oil for maximum nourishment. 5% Laurel Oil — Gentle daily cleanser for all skin types. The perfect starting point if you're new to Aleppo soap. Balances mild purifying action with deep hydration. 25% Laurel Oil — Rebalancing formula for combination skin prone to irritation. Higher laurel concentration delivers stronger antiseptic and soothing properties. Also used as a 2-minute face mask for brighter, clearer skin. 40% Laurel Oil — Maximum therapeutic strength. Recommended for problem skin, persistent blemishes, oily skin, and scalp conditions like dandruff. The most powerful antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and healing action available in a traditional bar. Why Laurel Berry Oil Matters Laurel berry oil (Laurus nobilis) is the active, therapeutic ingredient in Aleppo soap. It provides antiseptic, antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory properties. The higher the percentage, the more purifying and treating the soap becomes. The lower the percentage, the gentler and more nourishing — because the balance shifts toward olive oil, which deeply moisturizes and protects the skin's natural barrier. How to Use As a daily cleanser: Wet skin with lukewarm water, lather the bar between your hands, massage the foam onto face and body using gentle circular motions, then rinse thoroughly. Finish with a splash of cool water to tighten pores. As a face mask (25% and 40%): Apply a thick layer of lather to clean skin. Leave on for 2–5 minutes. Rinse thoroughly. Repeat once or twice per week for a deep-cleansing, pore-refining treatment. As a shampoo bar: Lather between hands and work through wet hair. Rinse well. Particularly effective for dandruff and dry scalp conditions at higher laurel concentrations. As a shaving soap: The rich, creamy lather makes an excellent natural shaving foam. Ingredients Sodium Olivate (Saponified Olive Oil), Sodium Laurus Nobilate (Saponified Laurel Berry Oil), Aqua (Water), Sodium Hydroxide (Lye — fully consumed during saponification). That's it. Four ingredients. No palm oil. No synthetic fragrances. No preservatives. No dyes. No SLS/SLES. No parabens. No phthalates. About the Maker Crafted by Alepia — La Maison d'Orient, founded in France in 2005. When the Syrian conflict displaced their master soap maker, Mr. Harastani (a specialist in fatty substances and public health), he brought his ancestral craft to a new workshop in France — ensuring the authentic Aleppo tradition continues unbroken. Every bar carries the Cosmébio NAT certification, confirming natural origin and rigorous quality standards. The Traditional soaps (1% and 5%) are made in France by the same master soap maker. The 25% and 40% bars are made in Aleppo using the original Syrian process. Storage Tips Place on a well-draining soap dish between uses. Allow the bar to dry completely between washes — this extends its life significantly and preserves its beneficial properties. Keep away from standing water. A single bar typically lasts 2–3 months with daily use. Certifications & Standards Cosmébio NAT Certified · Vegan · Cruelty-Free · Biodegradable · Zero Plastic Packaging · Palm Oil Free
