Wildlife Detectives: Ages 6–12

Wildlife Detectives is a small-group, discussion-based nature program designed for children ages 6–12 who are curious about the animals that live around us — even when we don’t always see them. Each month, we investigate seasonal wildlife clues found on and around the farm. June: Who Lives in Trees? In June, Wildlife Detectives will look for clues that help us discover who depends on trees for food, shelter, and nesting. We’ll talk about signs like nests, bark marks, holes, tracks, and more as we learn about birds, squirrels, and other tree-loving wildlife. July: Who Comes Out at Dusk? In July, we’ll explore the wildlife that becomes active as the sun begins to set. Children will learn how to notice clues like evening sounds, silhouettes, flight patterns, and insect activity as we talk about bats, owls, moths, and other animals that come out at dusk. August: Who Has Been Here? In August, Wildlife Detectives will search for signs animals leave behind, even when we don’t see the animals themselves. We’ll look at clues like animal tracks, chewed wood, pathways, and other evidence. Important: This is a parent-attended program. A grown-up must remain on-site and is responsible for supervising their child at all times. Wildlife Detectives is designed as a shared learning experience, not a drop-off activity. Please note: We remain in designated spaces and do not enter wooded areas during this program. Sessions are intentionally limited in size to keep the experience calm, interactive, and meaningful. We look forward to discovering together who lives here — and how to recognize the signs they leave behind. Price is per child; attending adults are free but must remain on-site.
