The Forge The twist pattern starts as a stack of layered steel, forge-welded into one billet. While the billet is still hot, the smith grips both ends and twists it, then hammers it flat. The blade is ground from 3.87mm stock, which is generous for a knife this size, and fitted to a handle that pairs a bone scale with a polished steel bolster, held with screws.
