What's in the Kit Inverter 1x Victron MultiPlus-II 48/5000/70-50 230V The heart of the system. 5000VA inverter with a built-in battery charger. Plug into marina power or run a generator and the MultiPlus charges your batteries and passes power through to the boat automatically — unplug and it switches straight back to battery power without a flicker. Distribution & Fusing 1x Noark MCCB 125A 500VDC 2 Pole (main battery breaker) 1x Victron Lynx Distributor 3x 60A MEGA Fuse (solar chargers and 12V supply) Everything on the DC side is fused and lands on the Lynx Distributor, with the Noark breaker as the main battery isolation — a clean, safe layout that's easy to service on a boat. Solar Chargers 2x Victron SmartSolar MPPT 150/45 1x 4 Pole DC Distribution Enclosure 2x Noark 25A DC Circuit Breaker (solar isolation) Two separate solar chargers mean you can run panels on both sides of the roof, or split the array so shading from a canopy or mast only affects half of it. Together they'll handle up to 4,500W of solar panels on a 48V system. The isolated Orion runs all of it from the main 48V battery bank, so you don't need a separate 12V battery. AC Distribution 1x 8 Pole AC Distribution Board 1x Hager 32A RCBO 2 Pole 30mA 1x Hager 16A RCBO 2 Pole 30mA Batteries 3x MPS / Mictronix 48V 5.1kWh Lithium Battery Module (15.3kWh total) 2x MPS Battery Quick Connect Links 1x MPS Battery Quick Connect Leads 125A, 2m The premium option. MPS / Mictronix modules are lithium iron phosphate batteries that clip together with quick-connect links — no messy battery cabling in a tight engine room or under-floor space, and a SmartShunt gives you accurate state-of-charge on the Victron display and app. 15.3kWh gets a houseboat comfortably through the night without solar input, with room to grow. A typical houseboat on this system would comfortably run: Fridge/freezer and a microwave Induction cooktop (one or two zones at a time) Lighting, TV and entertainment Water and bilge pumps (via the 12V supply) Laptop, phone charging and small appliances Small split system air conditioner on sunny days Note: This kit does not include solar panels, solar mounting hardware or a shore power inlet. It also does not include AC wiring beyond the distribution board — your sparky will handle that on board. Is This a DIY Kit? Yes — everything here is designed to be installed by a competent DIYer or licensed electrician. The DC side (batteries, inverter, MPPT) can be self-installed.
