Arel Lighting is a handmade manufacturer of lighting fixtures. KIEK is a sculptural wall sconce shaped entirely by hand from hand-hammered (forged) brass. A slender, tapering stem opens into a wide, softly flared mouth like a calla lily or a torch – the hammer marks and gentle folds of the brass are part of its character, so no two pieces are exactly alike. A concealed GU10 spot inside the cone throws the light upward, painting a dramatic fan of light on the wall above. By day it reads as wall sculpture; by night it becomes a striking uplight for living rooms, bedrooms, hallways, dining rooms and hotel or restaurant interiors.
