A kitchen fire could melt a day into yesterday. A factory blaze might resurrect the dead — twisted and wrong. The only ones equipped to deal with it were the Firefighters’ Guild. They weren’t just first responders. They were part-time physicists, part-time priests, and full-time erasers of impossible mistakes.
