Plug-and-play transfer switch that you can rely on No power? No problem! The GenerLink meter-mounted transfer switch is a safe and dependable way for homeowners to use a portable generator during a power outage. It is plug-and-play transfer switch that gives the homeowner the ability to use anything in their electrical panel up to the capacity of the generator. It installs behind the electric meter as easy and quick as in about an hour, with no rewiring of the panel needed. How It Works: When the power goes out, simply connect your portable generator to the GenerLink using the included cord and start the generator. The GenerLink safely disconnects your home from the utility grid and supplies power to your electrical panel. You can choose which appliances and circuits to run, as long as you stay within your generator’s capacity. When utility power is restored, the GenerLink automatically switches your home back to grid power. You’ll then need to turn off your generator and disconnect the cord. Generator Panel A separate subpanel with a manual transfer switch, wired to a set of dedicated breakers the customer selects in advance. Only those circuits receive generator power during an outage. Best when the customer wants a fixed, labelled set of essentials and a lower hardware cost, or when a GenerLink isn't suitable for the meter/service. How it works is a second small panel gets installed next to your main one and wire your most important circuits into it (such as furnace, fridge, sump pump, some lights and outlets, etc.). During an outage, you start your generator, plug it in, and flip the transfer switch. Only those circuits get power. When power is restored, you do the same in reverse.
