Archetype Chair I

The Archetype Chair I by Paloma Editions is, for all intents and purposes, a heart-stopper and rewards the invitation of Ludwig Wittgenstein: “Don’t think, but look!” The heart is apparent; its proportions are less predictable. Two unequal curves give its heart-shaped backrest an unexpected expression, introducing asymmetry into one of the most familiar emblems in our visual vocabulary. while a rounded seat and three sculpted legs give it composure. A small departure in form makes an old acquaintance worth looking at again.
