Antique Hobart Brothers 90-Drawer Parts Cabinet

Dimensions are 42.5" Wide x 11.5" Deep x 34" High This is a wonderful example of an early 20th-century American industrial parts cabinet, and the original manufacturer's identification plate makes it particularly interesting. The brass plaque identifies the manufacturer as Hobart Brothers Co., Troy, Ohio, with the inscription Stock and Office Files. The original orange paper labels on the drawers read Briggs & Stratton Service Parts, suggesting that the cabinet was used to organize small engine parts, probably in a repair shop, dealership, or parts department. The combination of the original brass drawer pulls, numbered compartments, aged wooden construction, and surviving paper labels adds considerably to its decorative appeal.
