David Axelrod - David Axelrod RSD Black Friday 2026

This is a Record Store Day Black Friday 2026 title, and should be available in store from 8am on Friday 27th November 2026. It cannot be pre-ordered or reserved. Any remaining quantities will be available online from 8am on Saturday 28th November. Originally issued on Mo'Wax in 2001, David Axelrod grew from a shelved late-1960s project conceived as the third Electric Prunes album for Reprise, based on the legend of Faust. Axelrod recorded the original rhythm tracks with Los Angeles session players including Earl Palmer, Carol Kaye, Howard Roberts and Pete Wyant. Decades later, after meeting Mo'Wax founder James Lavelle through DJ Shadow, he returned to Capitol Studios to complete the orchestral and horn arrangements, adding two new compositions that reflected his life in music. Now-Again's Egon, who attended those later sessions, has partnered with the Axelrod Estate to present the album anew.
