The album, Sinatra Sings Great Songs from Great Britain, featured a selection of much-loved British songs, including We’ll Meet Again and A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square. Released in 1962, the recording celebrated Britain’s rich musical heritage and showcased Sinatra’s distinctive vocal style. During this period, Sinatra was also touring and helping to raise funds for children’s charities, demonstrating his commitment to charitable causes alongside his remarkable musical career. More than five decades later, on December 9, 2014, a special box set entitled Sinatra: London was released to commemorate his musical connections with Britain. The collection included a remastered edition of his 1962 album, Sinatra Sings Great Songs from Great Britain, together with previously unreleased live performances and BBC radio recordings dating from 1953 to 1984. The recordings remain a fascinating reminder of Frank Sinatra’s enduring relationship with Britain and an important chapter in the career of one of the 20th century’s most celebrated entertainers.
