Degas Blue Dancers Round Plate
Edgar Degas returned to ballet dancers all his life. In Blue Dancers (c. 1895) four ballerinas prepare backstage in a haze of blue.Made with the glass fusion technique: sheets of coloured glass are cut by hand, composed piece by piece and fused in the kiln, where the plate also takes its shape. Made entirely by hand in Italy: no two plates are ever the same. Display it as a centrepiece, on a stand or on the wall.
