Raku Moon Ember Vessel

This round vessel is meant to resemble a full moon, with a slight opening at the top. Raku fired, it is pulled from the kiln when it is glowing hot and the smoke creates the beautiful detailing. Black, bits of copper, and rust are shown where the flame caught the vessel. A fine fissure near the opening emerged as the piece took shape during the handbuilding. This marks a moment in the making rather than damage. Not watertight. Made entirely by hand in Los Angeles. Dimensions: 5.25" (h) x 8.5" diameter
