CGS 16" Stainless Drip Pan
Complete Drip Coverage for 16" Deflector Setups The CGS 16" stainless steel drip pan is the go-to size for many large kamado setups using 16" ceramic heat deflectors. It catches grease and drippings before they can soak into porous ceramics or collect in the bottom of the grill. The 16" diameter provides broad coverage for Large Big Green EGG, Kamado Joe Classic, Pit Boss 24, Louisiana Grills 24, Grilla Kong 24, and other ceramic grills using roughly 18" to 20" cooking grids. It can also work with select 15" deflector setups when the pan is positioned above the firebowl. Why Use a Stainless Drip Pan? Protects Ceramic Deflectors — keeps grease and drippings from soaking into porous ceramic surfaces. Keeps the Grill Cleaner — catches drippings before they reach the bottom of the cooker. Reusable Stainless Construction — more durable and stable than disposable aluminum pans. Wide Round Coverage — provides broad protection for larger indirect barbeque cooks. Common 16" Drip Pan Setups The 16" pan works across several large kamado grills and rack systems, but where the pan sits can vary considerably. Open the setup that matches your grill or rack system for specific fit and spacer guidance. Large Big Green EGG Setups The 16" drip pan is a good match for the Large EGG ConvEGGtor and CGS Large Woo Rings and Adjustable Rig. ConvEGGtor with CGS PSWoo or EGGspander The 16" pan provides maximum drip coverage above the ConvEGGtor. If you want the pan to more closely match the ConvEGGtor's circular center section, choose the 14" drip pan. Large Big Green EGG ConvEGGtor setup with 2" ceramic spacers laid on their 1-1/2" side to raise the 16" drip pan closer to the cooking grid. 1" spacers also work. CGS 3-Leg or 5-Leg Woo Large EGG Woo setup with 16" half-moon deflectors, 1" ceramic spacers, and 16" drip pan. 2" spacers do not fit in this setup. CGS Large Adjustable Rig The Large Adjustable Rig gives you more flexibility in positioning the 16" drip pan than a fixed-height rack. Slide Guides or Crossbars can be used to position the pan higher or lower depending on the cook. Large Big Green EGG Adjustable Rig setup with the 16" drip pan raised above the heat deflectors. Large Adjustable Rig double-indirect setup with the 16" drip pan elevated above the deflectors. Note: Additional Crossbars or Slide Guides are required for some multi-level configurations. Kamado Joe Classic & Konnected Joe Setups Classic I, II & III Divide & Conquer In the Classic Joe and Konnected Joe, the 16" drip pan sits on the Kamado Joe Accessory Rack — the circular ring with four triangular support prongs. The 16" drip pan works well above the firebowl in Classic Joe Divide & Conquer setups. Because of its diameter, it does not fit down inside the firebowl. Kamado Joe Divide & Conquer setup using the Accessory Rack to hold the deflectors, ceramic spacers, and 16" drip pan. The 16" pan only fits above the firebowl. Pit Boss 24, Louisiana Grills 24 & Grilla Kong 24 CGS Woo for Pit Boss 24 & Louisiana Grills 24 The 16" drip pan is a strong match for these larger kamados when 16" deflectors sit lower inside the firebowl on the CGS Woo or Spider. Woo Ring for Pit Boss 24 and Louisiana Grills 24 with 16" half-moon deflectors, 2" spacers laid on their 1-1/2" side, and 16" drip pan. Grilla Kong 24 The Grilla Kong 24 can use the 16" drip pan on its 3-leg diffuser. Vision & Other Large Kamado Setups CGS Adjustable Rig for Vision Grills The 16" drip pan fits inside the Vision Adjustable Rig, where Crossbars or Slide Guides can be used to adjust its height. Note: The 16" drip pan does not fit on the lower Vision Spider inside the firebowl. Other Fit Notes Vision Woo Ring — use the 14" drip pan. Vision Spider — use the 14" drip pan. If your grill or rack setup is not listed, give us a call and we can help match the correct drip pan. How to Use & Clean Double-Line with Foil: Overlap two sheets of heavy-duty foil in a + pattern for fast cleanup. Extend Coverage: Flare the foil slightly past the rolled rim if you need a little more drip coverage. Expect Discoloration: Stainless steel will naturally tarnish and darken from heat, smoke, and grease inside a kamado. This does not affect performance. Cleaning: Remove and discard the foil after the cook, then hand wash the pan or place it in the dishwasher. Skip the Foil? Hardened, baked-on grease may not come clean in the dishwasher, which is why we always recommend double-lining with foil before each cook. Using Ceramic Spacers Ceramic spacers create an air gap between the heat deflector and drip pan, helping reduce direct heat transfer and burnt-on drippings. When clearance allows, more air space between the hot ceramic and the pan is generally better. Measure the available space between the top of your deflector and the bottom of the cooking grid before choosing spacer height. Depending on the rack system, 1", 1-1/2", or 2" of separation may be possible. 👉 Pairing Tip: Need to elevate your pan? View CGS Ceramic Spacers (3 per set) . Why the 1" Tapered Side Matters The 1" tapered sidewall helps balance drip-catching capacity with airflow. The smaller base sits closer to the deflector while the wider upper rim provides more collection area where grease is most likely to fall. Kamado grills already retain heat and moisture extremely well, so we generally do not recommend adding liquid to the drip pan during most barbeque cooks. What’s Included (1) 16" Stainless Steel Drip Pan Foil, ceramic deflectors, rack systems, Crossbars, Slide Guides, and ceramic spacers are sold separately. 16" Drip Pan Specifications Diameter: 16" Depth: 1" with tapered sidewall Edge: Rolled top edge for added rigidity Material: 200-Series Stainless Steel There is no practical need to pay more for 304 stainless steel in this application. Stainless drip pans will naturally discolor from normal barbeque use, but that does not affect performance. Full-Round vs. Half-Moon Drip Pans For longer indirect barbeque cooks, our preference is one full-round drip pan because it is easier to foil, easier to clean, and provides more continuous coverage beneath the food. For shorter or cleaner cooks, foil over one or both deflectors may be enough. If you use any reusable drip pan, we still recommend lining it with foil for easier cleanup and longer life. Built-in feet may sound convenient, but they usually create only a small air gap between the hot heat deflector and pan. Separate ceramic spacers let you create a larger air gap when grill clearance allows.
