A striking large antique ebonized ripple mirror in the Flemish Baroque style, featuring bands of hand-worked ripple and basketweave moulding, projecting corners and a bevelled plate. Ripple frames emerged in the Low Countries in the early 17th century and were used to frame Old Master paintings. This is a particularly fine antique example of the form.
