Bright and beautifully textural Albariño This single-vineyard Albariño was handpicked from Orbis’ estate vines, planted on McLaren Vale’s Kurrajong Formation in 2019. The fruit travelled only metres to the off-grid winery, where it was gently whole-bunch pressed and fermented cool in stainless steel. Full malolactic conversion softened the variety’s naturally steely acidity, while three months on lees with gentle stirring added subtle texture and savoury depth. Nashi pear, melon, lemon and pineapple meet honeysuckle, peach and a touch of lemon myrtle. The palate is lively and refreshing yet pleasingly fleshy, with a whisper of salinity carrying through to a vibrant, chalky finish. Enjoy now with kingfish ceviche, grapefruit and jalapeño, or cellar for up to five years.
