Complete 2 volume set of The Outline of History: The Whole Story of Man by H. G. Wells. This is the 1961 Book Club edition, revised by Raymond Postgate. The set is over 1,000 pages long and has 200 black and white maps and illustrations. These books start with the Earth itself and the ecosystems that existed before mankind. After discussing evolution, it moves to the first civilizations of Egypt, India, China and more. It then covers Judea, Greece, the Roman Empire, Christianity and Islam. Book 2 starts with the Crusades and the Mongolian empire and continues up until the 1950's with The UN and the rise of communism. Vintage find, please see photos. Both have original dust jackets. Volume 1 has a slight water stain on the front cover, inside cover page as shown. Original owner put address labels on the inside cover. Very good condition overall.
