Khata White
The Khata is a long piece of cloth (like a scarf) inscribed with auspicious symbols. It is an essential part of Tibetan culture, and is offered on all occasions from arrival to departure; from birth to marriage to death. It is a sign of love and respect for others. The most common colour of the Khata is white to signify the purity of the intention of the offerer, with no negative thoughts or motives behind it. The other colour used is yellow for long life.
