Unlabelled, handmade Chinese ¼-sized violin

It is always a delight to come across such a small-sized violin as this and find it has such a clear, resonant tone, with plenty of colour and depth, despite its dimensions. Handmade in a good Chinese workshop, this ¼ signed violin has a very handsome, one-piece maple back with a striking, sloping flame. The belly has a scraped finish and has been lightly antiqued, set off with an attracting red-gold varnish. The violin comes with two bows and an elegant RAAN case fitted with a hygrometer.
