Colutta, Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso

Friuli Colli Orientali DOC, Italy – 100% Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso Aromas of blackberry and dark forest berries, blueberry, black cherry, wild bramble with a savoury, earthy edge and a hint of violet. The nose is intense and wine-y, driven by blackberry and wild berries, and the palate is dry with a firm but manageable grip of tannin that carries all that fruit right through. The finish leaves you with berries and a little tannic tug. Pair it with Sausage, pork ribs, roast pork shank — or grilled red meat and a braised game stew.
