Kalpataru Intertwined Kalamkari Silk Saree - Green

A distinctive double layered pattern of vines alternating between hand-painted Kalamkari and woven gold zari decorates this pastel green saree. The pallu provides visual relief with a line of hand-painted chevrons and a golden grid of woven leaves. Comes attached with plain blouse fabric in green. The sarees are painted using natural pigments derived from tree bark, fruit peels and flowers, washed in running river water and bleached by the sun. Every saree is moulded by the colours, water and sunlight of the region, and each line, stroke and variation is a testament to the artist’s skill and labour. Note: Since the traditional Kalamkari process involves multiple rounds of preparation and washing, the attached blouse piece on this saree is slightly smaller than our standard allowance due to shrinkage.
