Created by the late clandestine distiller Willy Bovet, Tradition was conceived with a clear ambition: to revive the bold, assertive character of the absinthes enjoyed during the Belle Époque. Unlike many contemporary expressions that favour softness, it embraces the pronounced bitterness once considered a hallmark of great absinthe, offering a profile that remains faithful to the historic style of the Val-de-Travers. Distilled from a foundation of ten carefully selected botanicals, many cultivated by Willy Bovet himself or sourced from neighbouring growers, Tradition reflects a philosophy rooted in authenticity, botanical precision, and artisanal craftsmanship. The generous presence of grande absinthe (Artemisia absinthium) gives the spirit its distinctive structure and unmistakable character. At 65% ABV, this is an absinthe intended to be prepared according to the traditional ritual that contributed to the fascination and enduring popularity of the Green Fairy. Slowly diluted with fresh water, its aromatic complexity gradually unfolds, revealing a spirit of remarkable depth, freshness, and persistence.
