The First Bulldog

It started with the idea of drawing animals on the Albert Cuyp markt, eating stroopwafels. I loved drawing the city around it so much, that I decited to draw the rest of this beautiful city too, with al the "people" in it. Just as animals, like I usually like imagining. The First Bulldog and it's, are my interpretation on the coffeeshop scene in Amsterdam. It is a big part of Amsterdam and even a big part of why some people come to it and I didn't want it missing from my series. It was a big challenge with all the blacklight and the art on the actual shop and i love how it came out! Eventually, they will all be in a book, a kind of love letter to the city I love living in so much! For now they will be available as cards and prints.
