Bourgeois Downeast GAC AT Sitka/Koa Limited Edition
The Downeast story began several years ago with the establishment of Bourgeois’ second workshop, located in Beijing and staffed by highly skilled luthiers dedicated to handcrafting guitars under the close guidance of the team in Lewiston, Maine. Conceived as an extension of the Bourgeois tradition, this workshop was built on a shared commitment to precision, consistency, and tonal excellence. Through regular visits and ongoing collaboration, Dana Bourgeois and Master Luthier James Witkus have carefully instilled Bourgeois’ renowned system of voicing—the art of tuning guitar tops for optimal tonal response—into each luthier’s core skillset. This process, central to the Bourgeois sound, ensures that every instrument responds with exceptional balance and clarity. This long scale, shallow body Grand Auditorium Cutaway is one of four inaugural launch models in this series. It features and Aged Tone Sitka Spruce top and Koa back and sides. This is a very comfortable guitar with a crisp, focused sound. The bridge and fingerboard are Ebony, and the headstock veneer is Ziricote.
