【Japanese Teapot】TOKI (Tokoname Kyusu)
TOKI Series by JINSUI Capacity:40ml Size:φ10 × H4 (cm) In the world of craftsmanship, there is a term—“Toki-wasure”, a moment when one forgets time while enjoying tea. The TOKI teapot was born to enhance such beautiful, fleeting moments. Crafted in Tokoname, one of Japan’s six oldest kiln sites, this teapot represents a tradition recognized as a national heritage. Renowned for both quality and production volume, Tokoname ware holds a leading place in Japanese ceramics. More than just a vessel, TOKI is a work of art that brings richness and presence to everyday life. ・What is a Shiboridashi? A shiboridashi is a type of handleless Japanese teapot with a shallow, open shape. Tea is poured by slightly shifting the lid to hold back the leaves while allowing the liquor to flow out. Its wide form gives the tea leaves plenty of room to unfurl, making it particularly well suited to gyokuro and high-grade sencha, which are often brewed slowly with a small amount of water to draw out their natural umami.
