The Pentair Pentek 20" Jumbo Dual Gradient Density Sediment Water Filter Cartridge combines coarse prefiltration and fine final filtration within a single high-capacity cartridge. Unlike a conventional sediment cartridge with one filtration density throughout the media, the Pentek DGD Series uses gradient density filtration, progressing from 25 micron on the outside to 1 micron on the inside. Larger particles are captured in the outer layers before the water reaches the progressively finer inner media. This allows the cartridge to achieve up to three times the dirt-holding capacity of similar-size sediment cartridges, with even greater capacity than standard spun or string-wound cartridges.
