Grape Variety: Riesling Producer: Domaine Rietsch Region: Mittelbergheim, Alsace, France Certified Organic Vegan friendly wine Wild Scale: 3/5 11.5% alcohol Winemaking: Organic Riesling grapes from asingle plot were hand-harvested underwent fermentation with indigenous yeast. Aged in old barrels for 8 months. Bottled after light filtration, no fining and not added sulphur. This Wine: Rich and round Riesling from a single plot of vines grown on limestone soils. A cooler vintage for this cuvée produces are more acid driven wine, slightly leaner in body. Full of tension and energy which tells us this wine will keep getting better for years to come. Best served with food. Notes on the Winemaker: Jean-Pierre Rietsch is a natural winemaker in the village of Mittelbergheim, Alsace. His estate has been in the family for seven generations but wasn't used for vine cultivation until the 1970s. All of Jean-Pierre's wines are in very high demand but we particularly love his skin-contact cuvees which is a winemaking method rarely seen in Alsace.
