Calder's Quiet Fracture
Stand at the edge of any quarry long enough and the rock stops looking broken, each fracture becomes its own quiet shape, settled rather than shattered. Here, that same logic holds the floor: irregular planes of sage, blush, and pale grey-blue meet edge to edge, no two the same size, none competing for the centre. Hand-tufted by the weavers of Jodhpur, the wool sits matte through the greens, while certain panels catch a second, gentler sheen, stone that has been touched more than once. Laid the length of a room, its broken geometry reads quietly against a Georgian cornice, or holds its ground beneath the bare height of a concrete ceiling. In a Notting Hill sitting room, late light moving across each plane in turn, the floor settles the way the rock once did.
