Rousseau Rattan Weave Floor Lamp

Most floor lamp shades do one job. Rousseau's does two. The outside is an open zig zag weave of twisted paper rope in warm tan, the rattan look without any cane. Inside that sits a white linen drum with a light grey trim band. Flick the foot switch and the weave throws warm pattern into the room while the linen keeps the light soft and even, not stripey. If your lounge feels a bit flat, this is texture you can turn on. Two layers, two jobs The woven outer layer is 32cm across and about 15cm tall, wrapped around a 25cm inner drum, roughly 20cm of shade drop. Because the weave is open, light escapes through the gaps and lands as a gentle pattern on nearby walls. The linen inner diffuses the glow, so you will not cop a bare globe in the eye. From across the room it reads as rattan. Up close it is twisted paper rope, and we would rather tell you than have you find out. The arch does the placing The lamp stands 169cm tall on a matte black pole, the bridge arm curving over to carry the shade about 26cm sideways. A nudge, not a stretch. Enough to clear a slim chair arm and drop the light past your shoulder, so park it beside your seat rather than over it. Shade edge to base edge, it uses about 48.6cm of floor. The iron base is 25cm across with a 2.5kg counterweight inside, keeping it planted. Sits best In lounges and bedrooms heavy on plain plaster and straight lines, anywhere the room needs warmth more than brightness. The shape leans mid-century, though it needs no themed room. Takes a single E27 globe, not included. Go warm white to bring out the tan. Under a 2.4m Kiwi ceiling it fills the corner without touching it.
