An interesting early Showa 3 drawer box or ko-dansu with kanji inscriptions on all sides. It is common to find antique Japanese boxes with inscriptions but what makes this unique is that this is inscribed on almost every side. Except the front and the bottom. the sides, top and back all have the exact same inscription. Indicating the owner, where they were from and the date. The inscription reads: "Owner: Ishikawa Kingo, Tamagaki, Kawage District, Mie Prefecture — August 1931" With the Taisho era ending in 1926, this puts this in the early Showa period. Made from Sugi, Japanese Cedar and featuring 3 drawers with iron handles. Measures 20.5cm wide x 22.5cm deep x 22cm tall
