A Collection of Gradient Ginned Chawata: Naturally Brown Cotton

mid twentieth century as shown: 18" x 12" x 3", 46 cm x 30.5 cm x 7.5 cm 240 grams This is a group of chawata as it is called in Japan, or, naturally occurring brown toned cotton. This set of chawata shows about 3 different color tones, all of them said to be natural to the plant. The cotton shown here has been ginned so it does not contain seeds. This, of course, is a fascinating and rare material, and one that is eager to be hand spun into yarn.
