DirecTaq DNA Polymerase is a thermostable enzyme from Thermus aquaticus used for DNA amplification in unpurified samples, including whole blood.
- The enzyme lacks 5’ to 3’ exonuclease activity and is not suitable for TaqMan PCR.
- It is thermostable up to 98 °C.
- It improves amplification of GC-rich DNA with added betaine.
- It improves amplification of inhibitor-rich substrates with added sucrose.
