Provence Wingback Chair

A French country wingback with a lightness of touch. The Provence pairs a hand-carved frame, with its serpentine crest, scrolled arms, carved frieze rail, rosette corner blocks and fluted tapering legs, with a soft natural limed finish that lets the grain of the wood show through. Generous wings frame the sitter, and the back is upholstered in full, so it reads beautifully when floated in a room. The chair is dressed in an ivory ticking stripe in charcoal and indigo, with a deep loose seat cushion for proper comfort. A navy cushion embroidered with paisley vines in coral, rose and sage adds a jewel of colour. It belongs by a bedroom window, in a sunlit reading corner or flanking a fireplace in pairs. Cushion is not included.
