Rosarita Necklace Rosarita isn't a stone but glass slag from gold mining industry from the 60-70's in Alaska. The beach sand would be refined and smelted for its gold content in bib vats right on the beach. This process was not a perfect way to remove all the gold and would result in red slag that would build up from the gold left behind. This round piece of Rosarita is 1 inch in diameter , prong set and hangs from a heavy weight 18 inch oxidized sterling silver rollo chain with a lobster clasp.
