5Y3GT / 5Z2P RCA NOS Black Plates Square Getter Tube Rectifier Made in USA '68 Funke W19 Tested – VERY STRONG - Vintage American RCA Production Test Results: Tube tested on Funke W19 Tube Tester: Test Conditions: Va = 100V ; Vf = 5V 100% Average: Ia = 77.5 mA Test Result: VERY STRONG Tube : Section 1: Ia = 90 mA Section 2: Ia = 88 mA Additional Tests Performed: Emission Quality: Excellent – Very strong and stable emission, without fluctuations. Short Circuits and GAS: None. Description: This RCA 5Y3GT NOS, manufactured in the United States in January 1968, represents an excellent example of the historic American RCA production. The construction with black plates, square getter, GT bulb and octal base identifies a robust and sought-after rectifier, ideal both for the restoration of vintage equipment and for those who wish to replace a modern production with an authentic vintage tube. The 5Y3GT is a full-wave rectifier used in the power supply of guitar amplifiers, radio devices, hi-fi systems and numerous tube electronics. It can also be used in equipment designed for the equivalent code 5Z2P, after verifying the specifications required by the equipment manufacturer. The results obtained on the Funke W19 highlight performance clearly superior to the reference average value: 90 mA and 88 mA, compared to a 100% average of 77.5 mA. Both sections therefore present an emission very strong, stable and perfectly usable, confirming the excellent electrical condition of the tube. The difference of just 2 mA between the two sections also testifies to an excellent balance, a particularly desirable feature in a dual-plate rectifier because it promotes uniform and reliable power supply operation. The tests also confirmed the total absence of short circuits and gas. An original RCA NOS from 1968, characterized by electrical performance much higher than average, optimally balanced sections and authentic American construction: a quality choice for careful restorations, vintage amplifiers and equipment compatible with 5Y3GT / 5Z2P tubes.
