The Supreme 300B SE is built around a premise most amplifier designers would find counterintuitive: take the 300B output tube — the one that built its reputation in single-ended circuits — and run four of them in a push-pull configuration per channel. The result is 21 watts of pure class A power with the midrange character 300B is known for and a bass response and dynamic headroom that single-ended designs of any wattage cannot match. The output transformers are wound in-house by New Audio Frontiers using a proprietary scheme and amorphous core material, silver-plated copper Litz wire, and double winding to suppress parasitic oscillation. This is the part of a tube amplifier that most manufacturers source from a catalog. NAF builds theirs from scratch, which is why the high-frequency extension on this amplifier measures to 65kHz and actually sounds like it. Driver stage runs differential amplifiers biased with current sources. Fixed bias on the output stage for cleaner overload recovery and better dynamic peaks. Dual mono architecture, individually regulated power supplies per channel. Point-to-point wiring with Holco and Vishay resistors throughout the signal path, built to MIL specification tolerances. 45 kg of Italian engineering.
